Simon Basch

"Shame Herbison"

Simon Basch hails from the quaint coastal village of Victoria, B.C. Freshman's Wharf is Simon's first foray into the screen acting world. In the summer of 2009, Simon produced, co-wrote and acted in Missed Connections for the Victoria Frince Festival. Simon really likes watching movies and writing stand-up comedy.





Bill Christie

"Albert Appleby"

Bill originally trained as a stage actor in UK attending The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. He has been involved in the film and TV industry on the West Coast for many years and has both acted and directed in local theatre projects in Victoria. Recently Bill completed several small independent for Festival 16mm film projects and is delighted to be involved in the Web project Freshman’s Wharf.

Jesse Cowell

Jesse Cowell is a writing student at the University of Victoria. He's acted primarily in stage productions, such as Charlie Dies At The End, Rip Van Winkle, and The Wizard of Oz.






Matt Hamilton

"Shane Herbison"

Matt Hamilton is a actor/screenwriter based out of Victoria and Vancouver. He is a Screenwriting VFS graduate whose first feature screenplay, KICKBACK, was a Praxis Fellowship Winner. While continuing his education at UVic, he has also starred in numerous skits and short films. He is repped by Kirk Talent Agency in Vancouver.

Ana de Lara is an actor and comic, with a forte in improvisational comedy. Her acting credits include performances in the award-winning television series, Terminal City, and the award winning film, Tumbling After.

Peter McGuire

Peter is a Senior Instructor in the Theatre Department at UVic where he teaches acting, directing, and theatre history survey courses to students from all faculties. He is proud to be working with a very talented first -rate unit that includes several former students.

Karen Lee Pickett

Karen is a playwright who teaches writing at UVic and with Fernwood Writers Workshops. She is very glad these wonderful students have given her the opportunity to revisit her previous life as an actor.






Eliza Robertson

Two years ago, Eliza crossed ring road to study creative writing instead of the no-less-valuable but infinitely-less-interesting disciplines with which she had previously occupied her time, and she has yet to find any reason to go back. She is just delighted to be involved with Freshman’s Wharf this summer - it's a lovely show, really very funny, and you should all await further webisodes with unrestrained enthusiasm.
